QGM AR Operation & Maintenance Project

Augmented Reality (AR) is a new technology that can compute the location, and angle of an image in real-time. AR technology also can display corresponding images at the same time. Data information from the real world will be combined with the virtual one, so as to provide people with a virtual reality world in which to immerse.

In order to shorten the maintenance time and improve the factory production efficiency for our customers, meanwhile reducing the maintenance cost and improving the service abilities of QGM, we creatively introduced the AR operation and maintenance project to the after-sales services.

Case 1: Quicker Trouble Shooting

One client suffers an unexpected shutdown of the main block machine, unfortunately, the operator who works at the site doesn’t know how to fix it, then he can turn to QGM for help. The QGM-related electrical engineer will make a quick response to the operator, opening the AR operation and maintenance software and asking the operator to wear the AR device at the site. The image at the site will be uploaded to the software in real time via the AR device worn by the operator. Quick troubleshooting will be achieved after the engineer analyzes the AR image information. Then the engineer will help the operator remove the fault at the site, which can shorten the maintenance time and improve the efficiency for the client but also reduce the maintenance cost for QGM at the same time.

Case 2: Training for the new equipment via AR

A new QGM block-making production line was set up in one client’s factory. Many operators are not familiar with the new machine due to lack of experience. False operations lead to low qualified product rates. But if with the assistance of AR equipment provided by QGM, our engineers can offer one-to-one guidance to inexperienced operators. Operators can move the AR headset and send the collected information to our engineer if they encounter any questions. And engineers use the operation maintenance software supported by AR technology and click the mouse to demonstrate real-time operation video to on-site operators directly. With the method of multi-sense organ teaching and the integration of production and education, operators can master the operation process efficiently, and thus shorten the orientation period.
